Description said it had a metal snap closure but it's actually velcro which I do not like because it's not as reliable.Not great, but I have seen a lot worse also. The lower part where the blade goes is actually decent quality nylon. It's thick, double stitched and reinforced with rivets. Inside there is no liner, so every time you insert the blade, you can feel and hear the nylon being slightly cut. I made my own plastic liner to solve that issue, so an easy fix there. The main problem I had with this sheath was that mine didn't come with the snap closure as pictured. Instead, it came with low grade imitation velcro on a flimsy single stitched strap. I removed the stitching, and made my own with real velcro on a thick nylon strap just because I had some lying around. However, I would have preferred the snap. With these two fixes, I have what I feel is an acceptable quality sheath that should last for many years. I thought the side pocket with sharpening stone was a cool bonus. In the other small pocket I have stored a book of matches, tinder, and a tea light candle, for starting a camp fire. The orange Marbles stitched on there looks extra fancy. Overall, I am happy with my sheath for the ridiculously low price its going for.bought this for another reason was going to return it when i found out it perfectly fits my commando knife custom made repo 1980s style survival knife.the knife must be no longer than 9 inches and 2 inches across its widest part. people complaining that the sheath is falling apart is because they are force fitting large Bowie knives wider than 2 inches so what happens is the knifes thick bell slices up the stitching pokes through and cuts you! And those Magnesium Block Fire Starter fits perfectly in the stone pouch.only negative is the Velcro loop it wears out fastgreat quality and it came with a sharpening stone tucked into a pocket on the sheath. perfect for keeping in the trunk of my car.I bought this to fit the Marbles Bowie that I received as a gift. Both the Bowie and sheath are quite cheaply made (perhaps three stars) but go so well together in an odd way (perhaps five stars) that it all averages out. Nice touch is the embroidery. Mystery pocket above the stone pocket. Very thin nylon. Don't think you're getting something you'd want to keep your Becker in. It is what it is. I'd buy both again for myself and as a gift.Its worth the money but not a penny more. Its cheaply made but of sufficient quality if you have an old or cheap bowie style knife you need a cheap sheath for. In my case, I had a old 9" blade bowie that was dull, rusty, neglected and found in a barn. After grinding off all the old rust, making the knife shine again, and putting a new edge on it, it was worth the $10 to protect it as a truck or toolbox knife.This sheath fits like a glove and with the added bonus of the included store its just right for my use.Perfect sheath for a bowie style knifeIt fits!
