I looked forward with great anticipation to the stories of the Onofry family growing up, especially since I too grew up in Port in the 50's thru the 80's. What I didn't care for was the constant comparison of then and now and all the statistics...I wanted stories and the stories that they both told brought me back home again. I could have done without the posturing about how people/children act now as compared to then--While I do believe in family and being respectful to others, I didn't need a lecture...I came for the stories as anyone who ever lived in Port would. Luckily, I bought my book on Kindle at the low price of $3.99. I would have been greatly disappointed had I had to pay full price for paperback or hard cover. More stories---less lecturing and you would have had a great book for all of us who no longer live in PJ anymore, but long to hear the stories of our one-time great little town.
