I enjoy a small glass of very fine single-malt scotch once or twice a year. This scotch is more than $100 a bottle. The problem is that air will degrade the quality of the scotch over time, and a bottle can last me several years. How to preserve this expensive scotch from the destructive effect of air? I displace the used scotch with these glass marbles, raising the liquid to the level of the cork, leaving almost no air in the bottle.These marbles easily fit the neck of a standard 750 ml bottle. I measured the displacement - one bag of these marbles will displace 150 ml of liquid. So, about five bags would be necessary to displace all of the air from a nearly empty bottle (seven bags would displace exactly 750 ml, but the scotch fits between the marbles, so five bags would work for a nearly-empty bottle).Considering the cost of the scotch, and the cost of the marbles, this is a no-brainer. This would work equally as well with a fine wine or any other oxygen-sensitive liquid.Although the precise "roundness" of these marbles is not important to me, I did roll several of them on a flat glass surface, and they rolled straight and true.I wanted inexpensive marbles to use in two mason jars as visual encouragement to help myself lose weight (I put one marble per pound that I want to lose in one jar, and then I move marbles into the other jar as I lose weight). These were an inexpensive choice and the color is actually rather pretty. For what I wanted, these are perfect.Some have asked how many marbles are in this package. Mine had 75. They're a very pretty turquoise color.Color is darker than pictured. Nonetheless, I didn't buy them for the color. Marbles are marbles.Awesome price! They're a beautiful blue, maybe a little darker than the color in the picture, but it could be the lighting used in the picture is different than mine at home. I would definitely recommend these, for decoration or whatever other little crafty reasons you might need colored marbles.The "ice blue" color is more blue than the photo - I was expecting them to be the same pretty teal color, and since they're not, they don't really go with the decor as I wanted them to.OK, but not as blue as I had hoped. A little on the milky side.I thought there would be more. They are a bit bluer than in the picture.Matches my kitchen wallpaper perfect as these sit in a vase to match although I expected it to be a bigger size with more in it should’ve probably done my research first on the size still do the job though ??Arrived promptly and were just what we wantedNew as described.
